Brazil Access 2016 Executive Directors: Andrew Gilkes and David Thomas

 

 

Andrew Gilkes

Andrew Gilkes has over 20 years experience in international business and finance. For the past 15 years he has worked with numerous North American, European and Australasian companies to help develop and implement their international expansion strategies for the rapidly growing Asia Pacific region. 

During this time he also designed and led the economic “legacy” initiatives for both the Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. These highly successful international business networking and facilitation programs used the staging of the Olympic Games to help build greater long-term international business partnerships, trade and investment between Australia, China and the rest of the world.

Prior to the Sydney Olympic Games, Andrew held several executive positions with Westpac Banking Corporation, Australia’s third largest company. His roles included Head of Asian Business, Head of Global Banking Relationships, Chief of Staff for the Group Executive, and Deputy Chief Economist.

 

David Thomas

David Thomas is well known in the Asia Pacific Region for his experience, credibility and passion for identifying, building and facilitating business and investment relationships between developed and emerging countries and has led investment delegations to all of the four BRIC countries, including his first to Brazil in May 2010.

As a professional speaker and BRIC expert, David challenges his audiences and clients to view the world differently and to see new economic trends as an opportunity for leading businesses, investors and entrepreneurs to profit from the new emerging markets of the 21st Century.

Adriana Bonfiglioli

Adriana Bonfiglioli is originally from Brazil and has lived in the Asia Pacific region for the past eight years. Fluent in Portuguese and English, with intermediate levels of Spanish, Adriana’s tertiary qualifications include a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Bachelor in Law and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing. She is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability.

Adriana’s skills include project management, law, marketing, lobbying, translation, fund raising and the development of strategic partnerships and alliances. Over the past fourteen years, she has worked in a number of roles in the non‐profit and commercial sectors, both in Brazil and around the world, including supporting foreign companies in their efforts to establish influential business connections in Brazil.

Adriana is skilled in cross‐cultural communication, works with business leaders and entrepreneurs in and outside Brazil and is highly effective in developing and facilitating powerful connections and networks around the world.
